When I finally accessed the Internet in February 1998 I soon found JesusCafé, or rather God led me to that great room and I immediately fell in love with it. I see these chat ministries as God's means to reach the lost and strengthen the saved. I'm semi-retired after working 38 years for an equipment manufacturer. I'm trained as an engineer but spent the last 20 years of my career as a sales manager. I attended a liberal Sunday School as a child. Later I met Jesus Christ, but did not "get it" that He was offering me the free gift of salvation by his blood, until about 24 years ago. Since that time I've tried to make up for the lost years, and have made myself available to serve Him in many capacities. I live in the northeast U.S. in an empty nest with my wife of almost 35 years. We have 6 children and 12 grandchildren. What a blessing! We attend a Bible-believing Christ-centered church with about 115 members. I have served in various leadership positions, and have taught Bible to adults for 21 years. I sing on the Worship Team and serve as Choir director during the Christmas and Easter seasons. Currently I'm part-time Operations Manager at the church. I'm on the Board of Directors at the Good Shepherd School, Daycare, and Eldercare ministry. This Christian school was founded in 1976 with grades from K-5 to 8. Good Shepherd Eldercare is a brand new ministry that is being developed to serve seniors during the day. My life verse is Romans 12:1,2 "Therefore, I urge you brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God-which is your spiritual worship............." Jesus wants us to be living sacrifices or living stones as Peter put it. God's Word, the Holy Bible, is God's love letter to us and, as my favorite book, it guides me daily.
