The Scripture Squad responds...

From: sassraven

I do not understand how you can be answering people's questions from any new version bible and then telling them that God's Word is consistent and has no contradictions.

Specifically when you answered one person's question about the Trinity and the Godhead by telling them that the word Godheads not in the Bible. Romans 1:20, is just one verse that has the word right off the top of my head. And if you are using any new version, it is full of contradictions and false doctrine. I am telling you this as a brother in Christ. I am not angry at or with you. But I do not want to see Christians lying or misleading people about God's Word.

Thank you.

Randy,

Thank you for your concern. We in the Scripture Squad, as well as Jesus Cafe Ministries, do not as a general rule debate the KJV only position. We hope that no matter what version people use, they study vehemently and consistently and believe the Holy Spirit will direct our studies.

We are fully confident that God can preserve His Word in any language, including English. While we wish all people were Hebrew and Greek scholars, that luxury escapes most of us. We live in a wonderful time where we have more resources at our fingertips than any other generation. We have Strong's Commenteries, Bible dictionaries, translations, concordances and commentaries online. Students of Scripture can access Dead Sea Scrolls as well as at least a dozen translations at the switch of a modem.

We understand that translation is an art, not a science. We also know that language is a living entity. Time changes meanings and nuances of language. Therefore, we stand by our statement that the eternal Word of God has no contradictions. Any supposed contradictions (whether that be in doctrine, translation or teaching) comes from our weak human understanding, not from the inerrant Word. We are pleased you are a serious student and are confident that God will bless your for your faithfulness.

Psalm 119:14-16 says: "I have rejoiced in the way of your testimonies, As much as in all riches I will meditate on your precepts, And consider your ways. I will delight myself in your statutes. I will not forget your word."
