The Scripture Squad responds...
We believe you are referring to Cain's response after he had murdered his brother Abel. Genesis 4:9 God asked Cain, "Where is your brother Abel?" God knew where Abel was, (See verse 10) but he wanted to hear what Cain had to say. The Bible makes it clear that indeed, we are our brother's keeper. 1John 3:16 "This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers." John 13:34 Jesus said, "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another." In 1 Peter we find the characteristics that we are to have, Verse 7 "....and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love." Love is listed as the first fruit of the Spirit, Galatians 5:22. In 1Corinthians 13:13 we see the value of love: " And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." You asked WWJD? (What Would Jesus Do?) He has already done it!! Please read 1 John 3:16 again. - The Scripture Squad : |
