If you slide on over to verses 26-38, you'll see this conversation that Mary was having with the angel Gabriel. Mary wanted to know how in the world this conception of this child was going to take place considering she was a virgin and Gabriel was explaining what would happen. Right after that Gabriel says "Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age" If you go further down to verse 39, you'll see that Elizabeth was the wife of Zechariah (John the Baptist's father).
