Thanks and may our Lord Jesus bless and encourage you in the work. Greetings Rick! Brother, it is evident that the Lord has laid this on your heart and therefore His will for your life. We all face battles and struggles, but thanks to God that He has offered to help us overcome! Romans 6 is probably very familiar to you, as it is many of us. Remember Paul saying, "Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, on the one hand I myself with my mind and serving the law of God, but on the other, with my flesh the law of sin." (Romans 7:24-25) See, Paul knew what was right in his head, but still struggled with his old fleshly nature. We'd like to encourage you to know and study Romans 8. In this wonderful chapter of hope, you will find practical ways to deal with your struggle and have triumph over the evil that would desire to engulf you. Other passages that will help include Ephesians 5:1-17 and Ephesians 6:10-20 which reminds us it is not in our strength that we overcome, but through the strength of Jesus Christ our Lord. It will be a battle, brother. You must make a conscious act of will to flee any area that might cause you to stumble. Might we suggest you find another brother in Christ to be your accountability partner in this area? Choose someone who is strong in His Word and will hold you accountable to righteous living. Make sure you are spending time studying His Word each day and praying to the One who loves you and wants to see you delivered. Be involved in a local church that teaches His Word without compromise and is filled with born-again believers who know the importance of not only reaching others for Christ, but supporting the brethren.
