Supertones paid a visit to Talk City and chatted with their fans live in @MusicArena. We always get excited whenever prominent Christians pay us a visit. Much speculation abounds as to whether they will be bold in their witness for Christ. Well, we were not disappointed. While the Supertones have crossed over and are becoming popular in the secular music world as well as Christian, they are faithful in representing Christ well. Every song they write and perform mentions God. The answer to the following question taken from the transcript of the event gives us a glimpse of their daily devotion to Jesus Christ: DaddiOh says: What a great CD ! good music, lots of fun, and praising the Lord at the same time! Do you feel being a "christian" band the music scene is tougher on you? Supertones respond: Darren Mettler: Yea. It's different. It depends what area you are trying to gain respect. We've had great exposure and opportunities to be on MTV but we understand we are received well, but other bands don't come and beat our door down and try to get us to go out with them because they know that we are so blatant about the Gospel. We sing about Life! In the same way any other band sings about life. In our lives, we are trying to glorify God and live lives of thankfulness to Him. Whereas other bands just sing about girls and fitting in. It's a different life, ya know. It's plain to see that they are sold out to Christ and unwilling to compromise the message of the Gospel. However, those in the limelight are under greater spiritual attack than the average Christian. Satan finds no greater pleasure than to bring down those who are so public in their witness for Christ. It is, therefore, our responsibility to pray not only for groups such as the Supertones but all Christians whose lives are held before a magnifying glass.
