The Dove Awards

On February 22, 2000 Christian music's multi-talented Steven Curtis Chapman stopped by for an online chat with his friends on Talk City. The live chat was just one of many presented by Talk City and IBM, who again joined forces to bring live online chat events surrounding the GRAMMY® Awards.

Mr. Chapman has long been recognized by his peers for his outstanding abilities and has gone home from past Dove Award ceremonies with 38 wins since 1989. This year he has been nominated for an additional 6 awards.

The day following his chat with fans at Talk City, Mr. Chapman won the GRAMMY® for "Speechless," Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album. Mr. Chapman had previously nabbed GRAMMY® Awards for 3 other albums: "For The Sake Of The Call," "The Great Adventure," and "The Live Adventure."

SCC Chat at Talk City In the live chat Mr. Chapman revealed that he and his family are about to undertake an exciting new adventure when they all travel to China to pick up their soon to be adopted little girl. Mr. Chapman related the following about the upcoming event:

"..that is certainly leaving us "Speechless" and finally, and above all, exploring the love of God for those who He has created and experiencing that personally is what continues to amaze and astonish me. And inspires me to write songs and leaves me "Speechless" at the same time, which is kind of ironic."
